SUBWAY ADVERTISING

SUBWAY – RESTAURANT FACADE REBRANDING

WORK DESCRIPTION:

STARNO.net provided visual effects support for a 30-second Subway commercial. The project required a blend of architectural modification and high-energy dynamic simulation to support the campaign's promotional message.

Our first mandate involved extensive Digital Matte Painting and environment modification. Based on footage filmed at a physical location, our team was tasked with completely redesigning the restaurant’s storefront. This included the surgical replacement of the main signage and architectural elements of the facade to ensure the brand’s visual identity was perfectly represented and modernized within the shot.

In addition to the environment work, STARNO.net created a standout dynamic VFX sequence: the explosion of a ceramic piggy bank. This required precise animation and particle simulation to show the piggy bank shattering into pieces while coins fly in every direction. The goal was to achieve a photorealistic yet high-impact look that seamlessly integrated with the live-action plate.

PRODUCTION STRATEGY:

The Subway campaign relies on the concept of "big savings," a theme visually punctuated by our exploding piggy bank. At STARNO.net, we specialize in Invisible VFX—the facade work ensured a premium brand look, while the dynamic coin simulation added the necessary "punch" to the storytelling.

By combining environment design with physics-based simulations, we provided a comprehensive solution that allowed the director to focus on the performance while we perfected the surrounding world and high-speed action.
