STARNO.net spearheaded the entire creative and technical production for a mesmerizing 30-second television spot promoting LUNA, a flagship production by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. This project required a seamless blend of live-action performance and high-concept digital world-building to capture the mystical essence of the show.
The commercial features a ballet dancer transformed into a mysterious marine creature, gracefully navigating the ocean floor. The central visual hook is a magical air bubble surrounding the creature, allowing for a clear view of the dancer's expressive movements while vibrant sea life and schools of fish swim through the surrounding water.
As a turn-key project, STARNO.net managed every stage of production: from the initial Green Screen shoot with the dancer to the intricate creation of the Digital Underwater Environments. Our team performed advanced Chroma Keying and Compositing to integrate the performer into the digital abyss, adding organic light refractions, bubble simulations, and 3D marine elements to ensure a breathtaking and photorealistic result.
For the LUNA campaign, the objective was to translate the poetic and fluid nature of ballet into a cinematic experience. By controlling the entire pipeline—from the studio floor to the final render—STARNO.net was able to maintain total artistic cohesion, ensuring that the dancer's physical grace was perfectly complemented by our Digital Matte Painting and particle effects.
