COLGATE – ADVANCED ORAL CARE

WORK DESCRIPTION:

STARNO.net contributed specialized visual effects for a 30-second Colgate television commercial featuring a high-stakes dialogue between a medical professional and a dental expert. The scene, set against a sleek minimalist gray background, revolves around two massive, physical tooth models used to demonstrate the science behind enamel protection and repair.

Our primary mandate was the digital enhancement of these oversized physical props. While the teeth were constructed from plastic, the creative brief required a more organic, biological appearance to effectively communicate health issues. Our team meticulously integrated macro-level details, including the addition of microscopic perforations (small holes) and a complex network of red and blue vascular veins across the surface of the teeth.

Through precise Digital Repaint and Compositing, we transformed static plastic models into dynamic educational tools. By visualizing the "invisible" damage to the teeth, we helped illustrate how Colgate’s advanced formula penetrates and revitalizes dental health, bridging the gap between physical practical effects and high-end digital storytelling.

SCIENTIFIC ACCURACY & AESTHETIC:

The challenge of this project lay in the balance between clinical accuracy and commercial aesthetics. The Invisible VFX approach ensured that the digital additions—the veins and pores—felt like a natural part of the physical set, rather than "added" computer graphics.

By enhancing the textures of the physical dental models, STARNO.net provided the necessary visual depth to support the expert's explanation, making the benefits of the product tangible and visually striking for the viewing audience.
