STARNO.net was entrusted by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens with the full production of a grandiose 30-second television spot for the legendary production of Carmina Burana. Set to the powerful and world-renowned music of Carl Orff, this project was an ambitious undertaking where our studio managed everything from the initial creative concept and the Green Screen shoot with professional dancers to the final visual effects delivery.
The commercial features two dancers on an epic journey across an iconic Australian mountain range. Our team meticulously crafted the Digital Environments to capture the vast scale and raw beauty of the landscape. The narrative reaches its climax as the dancers sprint together toward the edge of a precipice, literally jumping into the void. To bring this poetic vision to life, we integrated the performers into a breathtaking CGI abyss filled with a "rain" of 3D blue and gold flower petals and leaves.
This project required a high level of Technical Compositing and character integration. By filming the dancers in a controlled studio environment, we were able to capture their precise movements and then seamlessly blend them into the digitally created Australian wilderness. The result is a surreal, surprising, and visually stunning piece that perfectly mirrors the emotional intensity of the stage performance.
